Katadyn Drip Filter

Katadyn (say cat'-a-dine) water filters use a silver impregnated ceramic filter element with an average pore size of only 0.2 micron (0.0002mm or 0.000008"). This ensures 100% removal of bacteria, protozoa, and cysts, including giardia, cryptosporidium, cholera, shigella, salmonella, E.coli, etc. Because of the extremely long life of the ceramic element, Katadyn filters produce safe drinking water at a tiny fraction of the cost per gallon of bottled water or most other filters.

The Katadyn Drip Filter is powered by gravity -- no pumping, hookup, or power required. Fill upper chamber with up to 2.5 gallons of untreated water, which drips through the filter elements into the bottom chamber. Excellent for home, RV, boat, base camp, recreation sites, etc. Very popular with missionaries and others in places with no plumbing or undependable water pressure. Food grade plastic container is extremely durable, and is translucent so the water level can be easily seen. Output approx. 1 gallon per hour. Size 10" x 26" set up, 10" x 18" packed for storage or transportation. Made in Switzerland.

Katadyn Drip Ceradyn is the original TRK Drip Filter. It uses 3 ceramic filter elements with a lifespan of up to 39,000 gallons (13,000 per element), depending on water quality.

Katadyn Drip Gravidyn uses 3 combined ceramic & activated carbon filter elements. Carbon is effective against tastes, odors, & chemicals. Katadyn recommends that the elements be changed every 6 months, but they tell us that if you don't need the activated carbon, you can use them as long as the ceramic is good. In this case, after the carbon is used up, they'll perform exactly like Ceradyn elements.
