SimTree Model 148F SimTree Memory Adapters

    Made in USA!USA Flag

Memory adapters let you use one type of memory in a motherboard designed for a different type, or in some cases let you combine SIMMs into a higher capacity SIMM.

SimTrees are (or should we say, were) designed and built in the USA by Memory Conversion Products. They're top quality, well designed products, and are guaranteed to work correctly in your system!

    30-pin to 72-pin SIMM Adapters

SimTree Model 144: Adapts 4 same-capacity 30-pin SIMMs to a 72-pin socket. Four-layer circuit board ensures speed, reliability and compatibility with all computers, including high-speed Pentiums. 1.3" clearance below sockets allows use with standard 72-pin SIMM in adjacent sockets. Height 2.5". Available in front and back models. Price $12

SimTree Model 148: Adapts 8 same-capacity 30-pin SIMMs to a 72-pin socket. Also works with 4 SIMMs. High speed buffers allow use of SIMMs with any number of chips. Four-layer circuit board ensures speed, reliability and compatibility with all computers, including high-speed Pentiums. 1.3" clearance below sockets allows use with standard 72-pin SIMM in adjacent sockets. Height 3.7". Available in front and back models. Price $16

SimTree Model 110: 8-socket adapter, predecessor to Model 148. Not recommended for Pentiums, or motherboard speed (not CPU speed) over 33MHz. Works in all 486's except 40, 80 & 120MHz. Price $8 Note: Returns of this adapter will be accepted for credit or exchange only, no refunds.

    72-pin to 72-pin SIMM Adapters

This adapter is no longer available. We left it on the page for the time being, just in case we run across a few more.

SimTree Model 122 combiner: Combines two same-capacity 72-pin SIMMs into one 72-pin socket. Accepts single-bank SIMMs (1MB, 4MB, 16MB, 64MB), either parity or non-parity. Will not accept double-bank SIMMs (2MB, 8MB, 32MB). Backplane 2-layer design gives performance equal to a 4-layer board and allows use on all computers (space permitting) including high speed Pentiums. 1.3" clearance below sockets allows use of standard 72-pin SIMM in adjacent socket. Height 2.1". Price $14

Adapters for 30-pin SIPs and SIP Sockets

SimTree Model 244: Same as the Model 144, except uses 30-pin SIPs instead of SIMMs. Price $16

SimTree Model 248: Same as the Model 148, except uses 30-pin SIPs instead of SIMMs. Price $20

Model 35 SIMM to SIP adapter: Clip-on adapter allows use of a 30-pin SIMM in a 30-pin SIP socket. Adds about 1/8" height to the SIMM. Your SIP sockets must be spaced at least 0.3" apart (center to center) in order to use this product. These adapters are no longer stocked, but are available by special order for about $5 each. Please contact us for price and availability.

    Other Items

    Model 96 DIP to SIMM board: Uses 8 or 9 1Mx1 DRAM DIPs (18-pin) to make a 1MB 30-pin SIMM. Capacitors included. Soldering required. Size 3.5" x 1.1". Price: 1@ $3.80, 4@ $3.30, 8@ $3, call for higher quantities.

16550AN High-Speed UART: 40-pin DIP UART chip with 16-character FIFO buffer. Plug-in replacement for older-type UARTs like 8250 or 16450. Used solder pulls. Price $2 each

Front & Back Models: What's the difference?

SimTrees come in "Front" and "Back" models. The front model has its sockets on the front side, which is the side where you normally find the chips on a single-sided SIMM. If you place the adapter on a table, Pin 1 (notched end) on the left and Pin 72 on the right, connector edge toward you, the front side will be up. Back models are a mirror image of the front model, having the sockets on the back side. Some computers have plenty of clearance around the SIMM sockets so either model will fit, but others require one or the other to avoid clearance problems. If you want to install two adapters in a computer, normally you'll need one front and one back so they'll fit into adjacent sockets, back to back.
